A dental implant is a tooth restoration for people who are missing one or more teeth for reasons like injury or periodontal disease. To begin the implant process, a titanium metal anchor is surgically positioned into the space using a local anesthetic for your comfort. This anchor will act as a “root” for the replacement tooth. Once the implant is in place, the surrounding bone and tissue need time to heal and fuse to the implant before it can be put into use. Once adequate healing has occurred, the implant can be used to build a replacement tooth filling in the space. Implants can be used to support crowns, bridges and dentures and provide a very comfortable and natural looking replacement for a missing tooth or teeth.
Implant placement requires specialized training and Dr. Clark and Dr. Romzick have the knowledge, training and expertise to provide this service to our patients in the familiar comfort of our office.
